Water Conservation Tips
Report all leakages in the supply network to SWSC immediately. Leakages in the supply network cause erratic supply and low pressure in your houses.
Report all vandalism practices, such as someone puncturing a water pipe, meter or sewer pipe to any SWSC offices or Police Stations
Remember to turn the tap off immediately you are not using it or when the container you are drawing water in is full.
Do not leave the tap running when doing your laundry or washing dishes.
Use a bucket to wash your cars and water your lawns to conserve water and reduce your water bill.
Never leave showers/taps on or running when not in use or when soaping.
Channel water spilling from your taps to the garden.
Wash fruits and vegetables using a dish and not under running water from the tap
Take short showers when bathing
Water lawns during the early morning hours when temperatures and wind speed are the lowest. This reduces losses from evaporation.
Do not leave sprinklers or hose pipes unattended
Repair leaks and dripping taps immediately to prevent water wastage
Don’t let water run while shaving or brushing your teeth, preferably use a cup when brushing teeth to prevent wastage.
